The human brain is a very complex organ which is highly organised and plays a huge role in controlling our thoughts, breathing, memory, sleep, speech, movements, actions and moods. Virtually all functions in our body. It is the most complex organ we have.

Like every organ in our body, we should be looking after our brains, otherwise known as our control centres.

Physical exercise is good for the brain because it supplies the brain with more blood, and helps sustain and improve its functions. Other good things for the brain include healthy nutrition, good sleep, positive thoughts, positive social engagements and activities


CAPACITY OF THE HUMAN BRAIN

The brain contains about one hundred billion neurones, which act as transmitters. It is far better than any computer ever created, handling vast amounts of information per second, processing this information, and sending out thought actions in response. The brain’s ability to store information is unlimited and we humans have only used perhaps 30 percent of its capacity and capabilities.


Our brain gym will be providing the following activities:

  • Memory activities

  • Analysing and discussions

  • Book club

  • Learning opportunities 

  • Exercise 

  • Visuospatial reasoning activities

  • Executive functioning tests and activities

  • Quizzes

  • Singing lessons and learning new instruments


Exercising the brain has been known to improve and slow down dementia, menopause memory difficulties, concentration, restlessness, calmness, happiness and inner peace.

Freo recommends a daily gym session to keep a healthy brain.
