National Illustration Day
Happy National Illustration Day!
Last year marked the first National Illustration Day in the UK, so we were particularly grateful to be able to shine a spotlight on an art form that focuses on creativity, imagination and vibrancy. Illustrations are an amazing way to tell stories and communicate messages in a visual format. They can interpret, explain or complement, make abstract contexts understandable, transcend boundaries or serve as pure visual entertainment.
Why not start looking into how to get into illustrating or check out what Illustrators are creating in your area? You never know where your curiosity might take you!

National Homemade Soup Day
There's nothing like a nice bowl of soup on a cold, dark day! It'll warm you right up from the inside, give you a boost of energy, and the colourful ingredients will brighten up your winter days.
Our favourite: tomato soup with a side of garlic bread! It's not really seasonal, but you can use canned tomatoes as well if you like! 😊
The three main ingredients: butter, a large onion and tomatoes (2 cans of tomatoes, or if you have fresh tomatoes, you'll need about 10 to 12 medium tomatoes).
1) Cut the onion into larger slices and sauté in butter. If you like, you can add spices such as oregano, thyme or kurkuma, or you can use stock or vegetable broth. Use salt and pepper and spice it up as much as you like.
2) Add a little water and simmer with the tinned (or chopped) tomatoes for about 30 minutes.
Do not forget to stir from time to time.
3) Add some butter at the end to make it extra creamy.
4) Blend.
—> For the garlic bread - butter the bread, add the fresh garlic, spread it on top and bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 10 minutes. It will be super crispy. 😊
5) Grab a bowl and enjoy! Why not invite some people over to share a nice bowl of soup?
